The Bearded Ladies of Khaz Ankhor ֍ Wicked Whiskers

The dwarven hold of Khaz Ankhor has either attacked in treachery or has itself fallen to a treacherous infestation.  Count Van Dyke has sent Our Heroes to find out what has happened in this once noble city.  They will find a city under siege, reeling from a recent plague, and gripped by a succession crisis... but something even worse looms behind it all.  To find out what’s happened here, they’ll have to carefully navigate a hairy political situation.

This adventure is compatible with Cortex Prime, TorchLite, and Keystone Fantasy Roleplaying, and its structure and scene progression can easily be adapted to your favourite game system.  It assumes a relatively generic fantasy setting, but that’s very easy to reskin however you like.

The nitty-gritty: this is a 16-page PDF presenting a five scene adventure that should play out in one to two sessions.  It includes seven challenges and a challenging GMC, one city map, three adventure cards, and an overabundance of stupid jokes.

The Wicked Whiskers Campaign

This adventure is part of the Wicked Whiskers Campaign, a fundraising effort to help the author Miriam—that’s me—afford the astronomical cost (~$9000CAD!) of zapping off my facial hair.  My scratchy chin is one of the few dysphoria triggers I have left—it really makes me feel horrible—and it’s not covered by the otherwise generous provisions of Manitoba Health.

I’ve been encouraged to ask my community for support, and I hate to have nothing to give in return.  So I’ve written this exceedingly silly adventure as a sort of thank you to folks who chip in to my electrolysis fund.
